Kylie, along with her husband Michael, shares her story of her first birth in the hospital that did not go well. She found herself postpartum with a significant tailbone injury and pelvic floor damage. After going into the first birth with no education or insight, they decided to do things differently the second time around and hire a doula * take a childbirth education class. Through the class, Kylie learned that she didn’t have to ignore red flags about her provider and that she could switch. She chose to switch to a home birth at 28 weeks. Together, they share that birth story and all the joy of it.
Michael, who is a PHD student at Southern Seminary, shares a theological perspective on birth that is encouraging and timely.
